Kaylee & Robbin’s Brookside Wedding
Our Initial Wedding Photography Meeting
When I first met Kaylee and Robbin I was struck by how easy-going and soft-spoken they were. We really connected at our meeting and we quickly knew that we’d be a great fit for each other! Kaylee and Robbin are both originally from China but they’ve since made a home for themselves in Pasadena. They told me that really love their area and wanted to have their wedding close to home so they decided a Brookside Golf Club wedding (located right next to the Rose Bowl) would be a great fit for them!
A Unique Getting Ready Experience
Kaylee’s getting ready room was a bit small, so I decided to take her wedding dress and shoes out of the room for photographs. As I scouted the area for a good location for these images, I came across their reception room and saw that the guest tables were already set up and beautiful! I scanned the room and noticed the curvy iron light fixtures above, and I immediately liked the idea of photographing the wedding dress in this rather unconventional location! After photographing the dress here I also placed Kaylee on the dance floor and photographed her in her final stage of getting ready. I really like how all of the images turned out because the tables in the background add to the anticipation of upcoming events!
Bride and Groom Pictures On The Course
When Kaylee was finished getting ready we hopped in some golf carts and headed out to the course for some fun Bride and Groom pictures! On the way to one of the golf course locations, I almost got hit by a rogue golf ball, but it’s all part of the job 🙂 Taking these pictures on the course was a blast, because Kaylee and Robbin had the opportunity to loosen up, have fun, and show their playful personalities. There’s nothing better than capturing relaxed and natural feeling images of the Bride and Groom interacting with each other!
A Lively Ceremony and Reception!
Kaylee and Robbin’s ceremony was full of laughs and love! My favorite part of the ceremony happened during the processional – The flower girls each had a basket full of flower petals that they were supposed to drop on the ground as they made their way from a nearby building to the aisle and as they walked down the aisle. The only problem was that the younger flower girl had already used all of her flower petals by the time she reached the aisle! So she walked down the aisle with a pouty face showing everybody that her basket was empty 🙂
The two things that stood out most to me about Kaylee and Robbin’s reception were the heartfelt speeches & toasts and the Kaylee and Robbin’s well choreographed first dance. You could tell they had put a lot of time and effort into getting their dance down! It was the highlight of their reception and a moment that all their guests enjoyed!
My Thoughts On Brookside Golf Club Weddings
This was my first time photographing a Brookside Golf Club wedding and it was a great experience! I really like how the ceremony site, cocktail area, and reception room are right next to each other. This made it easy for the guests (and the photographers!) to transition from area to area. I really loved how the golf course was the backdrop for the ceremony and how accommodating and helpful the event coordinators and staff were.
