    Josh Goodman Photography is actually a husband and wife team - Josh & Jill. We met in high school and we’ve been best friends ever since. Our style of photography can best be described as "Vintage Feel, Contemporary Appeal." We have a passion for the art of wedding photography and our inspiration comes from all of the heart-felt moments that take place throughout a wedding day. We love capturing the romance, playfulness, and unspoken connection between a bride and a groom.

skirball wedding – alyson and heith

Alyson and Heith are perfect for each other! When you’re around them you can feel their connection and how their personalities compliment each other. We had an amazing time photographing their engagement session and their wedding did not disappoint! They had their ceremony and reception at the beautiful Skirball Cultural Center. It’s one of our favorite venues for photography because of it’s mix of cool architecture and greenery.

This wedding was unique for us because Alyson and Heith had their cocktail hour before their ceremony and then they went straight into the reception right after they completed the ceremony. We absolutely loved the setup of their reception and their band, Go Big Daddy rocked the house! Special thanks to Lynn Philpott for doing an awesome job coordinating the day. And congratulations Alyson and Heith!!

Josh & Jill,

We hoped for a few good photos from the day of the wedding, and instead we literally got hundreds. You both have been such a pleasure to work with from the beginning (from e-mailing and meeting, to the super-fun engagement session to the surprise gifts in the mail) to the wedding day, where you somehow managed to take 200 picture-perfect formal shots of the family in half an hour in which everyone looks great in nearly every single picture! Plus, the whole process was a great time! I didn’t even realize you were there at the ceremony and barely noticed you guys at the reception, which I think is a sign of a great photographer. You both made the day even more special with your professional and calming presence.

You were able to capture all the great moments from the wedding – including the ones we remember AND the ones we missed. So many of the pictures are truly breath-taking in that they perfectly capture the kind of genuine emotion that is rarely recorded on film. We are sooooo happy we found you and will forever be grateful for the beautiful record we have of the wonderful day. Thank you!!!

tournament of roses garden in pasadena

We stopped by the Tournament of Roses house and garden a couple of weeks ago just to take some fun pictures! We love going to places we’ve never been to before, soaking in the environment for inspiration, and using that inspiration to make creative images. It’s fun thing to do and it really helps to get those creative juices flowing….try it sometime if you’re into photography!

Jill was photographing the texture of the cracks in this fountain when I decided to start filming her with the Canon 5D Mark II’s video capabilities. You gotta love her reaction when she realized the camera was rolling!

Here we see Jill demonstrating the fine art of photographing roses….you have to sneak up on them grab the shot quickly before they get startled and scurry off. Don’t try this at home, we are trained professionals!
